Marsha & Shlomo Fredman a"h 
Early Childhood Center

The ECC@ EHA is a warm, nurturing and vibrant environment dedicated to early learners.   Our early learners begin at Tenoki (2 years), Nursery (3 years) and Pre-K (4 years). 

Our program (full day & half day options) features a 1:5 teacher to student ratio and teaches to the “whole child.” Our teachers focus first and foremost on social-emotional development, teaching the interpersonal and early conversational skills that are the key elements in nurturing happy and successful learners.

The EHA early childhood program focuses on early academic goals, such as emergent literacy, pre-writing skills, pre-math skills, and social studies.


We firmly believe that young children learn through play, both indoor and outdoor. Our classrooms have been redesigned as warm and inviting spaces that cultivate our children’s curiosity.

Our ECC programs are Reggio Emilia-inspired where the classroom functions as the third teacher, replete with easily accessible materials designed to facilitate exploration and growth. We recently built a brand new playground that functions as a true outdoor classroom. Through gross and fine-motor activities, verbal, visual and kinesthetic stimuli, our students are learning through purposeful play each moment of their day here at school.

Sometimes it’s hard to leave our little ones. We strengthen the home-school connection with daily videos, photos, and textual communication of your child’s daily experience, all shared through an easy to use smartphone app.

In our Reggio Emilia-inspired classrooms, teachers are facilitators of child-centered learning based on the following core principles:

  • The curriculum is driven by the children’s interests.

  • Teachers are not givers of knowledge–children are curious and seek out knowledge through their own investigations.

  • Teachers provide experiences to provoke a child’s thinking and learning.

  • The environment is the third teacher and should be filled with natural light, order, and beauty. Every space has a purpose.

  • A child’s thoughts and activities are documented and shared with parents.

  • Parents are collaborators in their child’s education, and their input is encouraged and valued.

  • Children are communicators and are listened to with respect.

  • Teachers value the Hundred Languages of Children. Children show their understanding and learning in many ways (drawing, singing, building, moving, sculpting, playing music, etc), and each is important and nurtured.

  • Authentic materials, tools, and experiences of the real world are encouraged.

  • Learning and play are not separated–a child learns through play. Teachers observe closely and ask questions about what children are doing to stimulate learning.
